To live a life is like to fight a war. It’s a road full of thorns, ups and downs. You need to set a goal, believe in yourself and head vigorously for your target. Below are three life principles that if you follow will keep you focused on achieving your life’s objectives.
Don’t live your life trying to copy others
In this life, a lot of people live a life of pretense and ultimately misery, trying so hard to live like others. You live all your life trying to be like someone – speak, walk, dress and even think the way someone does- until your life passes you by without an inkling that you’ve wasted a part of your being doing absolutely nothing. Life is too short for that. You got so little time to accomplish all that you needed to achieve. It doesn’t mean you don’t learn from each other. No! It means having a vision that you want to accomplish something in your life and that whatever you learn or do is going in line with achieving that your vision. Anything else is a waste of time. Steve Jobs couldn’t have put it better when he said “your time is limited don’t waste it living someone else’s life”
Help and respect, but don’t be fooled
Helping and respecting people should be one of our core values in life, most especially helping the less privileged among us. Disrespecting anyone just because you have an edge over them will not ever make you a better person, rather it will expose who you really are and undoubtedly will make your life more miserable than you thought. It is actually our responsibility to look after one another as a people, for human are interdependent of each other. Make no mistake, someday you too will be in a position of needing someone else’s help. But, in trying to prove how kind you are don’t lose yourself or your self-worth. Learn to draw boundaries when the need arises. You too need to be respected. No matter what you do, you will never satisfy everyone. Do what is right and what makes you happy; in as much as you don’t stumble on someone else’s right. Life is too short my friends, live your life, not someone else’s.
Think outside the box. God created us with extraordinary abilities, if unleashed, we can do wonders that we will be in awe of ourselves. Don’t hesitate to take that leap of faith. Trust yourself enough to accomplish it because we all have it within ourselves. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt. Learn new skills, travel and see places for yourself, go out there and make your life as useful as it can be, fight those demons in your head that make you think you cannot succeed or you are less deserving. Let me tell you something, you deserve every single thing that you want, unless if you’re not willing to have them. When you put in the needed effort, no one can deny you what is rightly yours. Forgive yourself when you make mistake and never allow anyone tells you that you don’t deserve it. Be confident but not arrogant. Go ahead take calculated risks because you always have to take them to accomplish great things. YES, you possess what it takes… Yes, you can.
There is no liberation in this world greater than liberating yourself from self-doubt and living a life that is purposeful.
Do not be distracted by the obstacles in your life. I believe, all these obstacles in our lives are there for a reason, they are meant to train, teach and prepare us on how to achieve our goals.
Therefore, it is pertinent to say that living a life full of promises and excitements is one’s choice, a conviction that one must be courageous to take risks and be ready to make mistakes and carry on!
